Mother Says Army Rape Victim Attempted Suicide
Philidelphia--A female soldier from Fort Lewis, Wash., who says she was raped in Kuwait and complained of being isolated in the attacks aftermath, has since tried to commit suicide.

"She got medical attention, but they cut her loose again," Wharton said. "There's no one with her, watching her, to make sure it doesn't happen again. And that's my major concern."

Wharton said her daughter feels isolated because her unit moved out and because she's living by herself.

2. Well, hasn't anyone told her, she has to be raped by an Iraqi for
any sympathy from the devil, er, I mean the misadministration.
There is no cap to the misadministrations callous.
I feel for this woman, she served her country and the government thugs turned their backs on her. I hope she is and will be safe and well.

She has a wound that is just as horrific as Jessica Lynch. The military should send the woman home and prosecute the rapist.

It's fucking disgusting that the military is not concerned that it's harboring a freaking rapist that violates soldiers. Not that they have ever cared about women in My Lai or Okinawa...

Something about this story just isn't right...and this alleged suicide attempt makes the story sound even more not right.

when a masked man with "an American voice" hit her on the back of the head. I'm not necessarily disputing her story, but if she was hit on the back of the head how could she see he had a mask on? If you are facing someone they can't hit you from the back. Did she have physical injuries? Sounds like she was hit hard enough to leave evidence.

Female soldiers are raped out in the field by male soldiers from their own units more than the Army would like people to know about.

On edit: This is inexcusable. In basic, one of the female soldiers in my unite was groped in the lunch line--and the way she was groped was more like a sexual assault. And what makes it all the worse is the military's treatment of victims of sexual assault. It's becomes a double rape.

6. No. No. No. This can't be true. Only Hussein's sons rape women
Our Cokehead In Chief always mentions the Iraqi "rape rooms" every chance he gets. So quit saying that.
