1. Down because of lower gas prices?
What are these people smoking?

How does a person lie to themselves? It's like Republicans are bi-polar. They lie to themselves. How stupid can you be?

2. Actually it makes some sense

3. Probably
taking a little break, before "shop-o-rama" for Christmas starts and looking at the credit card statements with all those gas charges might have been sobering.

4. Conversely, retail sales were up in July, August
because of rising gas prices.

But nobody mentioned that little detail earlier when they talked about how the economy was improving.

5. I'm not surprised
There is a lot of uncertainty and BushCo was pushing the terror button during that period. Plus, this happens every time there's a election. People don't like change, so they hold off on doing things until they know which way things are going to go.
