Jesse Jackson Jr. Backs Dean for President
Lousy source, good news.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Presidential candidate Howard Dean picked up the endorsement of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. on Sunday, which could help broaden his appeal to black voters.

Jackson told a rally in Columbia that the Democrat would fight for jobs, education and health care for all Americans, not just the wealthy. South Carolina holds its primary Feb. 3.

Dean was also endorsed Sunday by Rep. Robert C. Scott, D-Va. Scott is the only black in the congressional delegation from Virginia, which holds its primary Feb. 10.

7. He said that he will endorse him a while ago.
But actually did so on Sunday. No, it doesn't make any sense to me either.

3. This must be wrong...
I have heard repeatedly here at DU that Dean doesn't appeal to minorities because he is white and from a very rural white state. Obviously the article is wrong, because there is no way the others could be.

5. The formal endorsement was Sunday.
It's been known for a month.
