DW: North Korea calls Japan "imbeciles"
North Korea calls Japan "imbeciles"

North Korea has lashed out at Japanese officials, calling them political imbeciles for saying they won't accept North Korea as a nuclear power. In a statement, North Korea's Foreign Ministry said Japan should stay away from upcoming six-party nuclear talks and said Japan was nothing more than a US state. <snip>

1. That's it. No soup for them!
No Playstations for them, either.

2. Yeah,
... not exactly a comment calculated to win friends and influence the Japanese, eh?

3. Kim Little Dong
continues to be a provocative asshole with nuclear capabilities. If he can possibly discredit Japan, it gives him more reason not to take any steps toward a diplomatic resolution, although more than Japan are involved in these diplomatic pointless talks that have been going on forever. Next, he'll call Japan a bunch of Nazis, or some other BS. (He's going to do as he pleases, regardless.) He just likes to make inflammatory remarks to attempt to validate his nuclear program.

He's a dick, and other countries have enabled his dick-hood.

7. A significant number of people in power in Japan
are not much better than Nazis if you go by their continued efforts to cover-up war crimes and ethnic cleansing in WWII.

I'm hardly a fan a Kim Dong Il, but the current leadership of Japan doesn't need his help to be utterly discredited as far as most of East Asia is concerned.

Hell, the Japanese Prime Minister *still* makes an annual sacrifice at the shrine to class A war criminals in Tokyo and claims that the Rape of Nanjing (where 300,000 civilians were massacred in 6 weeks)was "greatly exagerrated" despite mountains of evidence to the contrary. It's the equivalent of the Prime Minister of Germany being a Holocaust denier and then wondering why Israel gets a little pissy in negotiations with him.

4. I am sure the Japanese are horrified...
While they might be 'imbeciles'...those imbeciles have the world's second largest economy and a massive shopping district without parallel...whereas North Korea has....um.....um....ah......

Really kewl retro Red-50s looking government emblems

Take that Japan!

(well actually Japan, a world leader in design, graphics and aesthetics, kicks their ass totally there as well)

NK is rather pathetic, but they are ballsy -- they got NO leverage, but still think they should be calling all the shots...

I just hope this resolves itself with the LEAST amount of casualties....especially for the North Koreans, they deserve a little better than being pent up in the world's largest insane asylum and then used as fodder by the same madmen.

I hope cooler heads prevail.

5. While the Northkorean remark about the faculties of the Japanese
will raise some eyebrows, I have heard the statement that Japan is but one state of the USA expressed
by many compatriots.

6. You left out one place where the PDK out does Japan
The PDK has the world's largest political prison camps.
Some of the camps are as large as medium sized cities.
