Gartner Will Cut 200 Jobs To Trim Costs
"Gartner Inc. of Stamford, Conn., which sells research on the information-technology market, said it will cut 200 jobs, or 5.3 percent of its 3,800-person work force, to trim costs and streamline operations.

The cuts will result in an expense of $28 million to $32 million, Gartner said. The costs will be recorded in the fourth quarter and the first quarter of next year."

2. But didn't you hear? The stock market
is about to break 10,000! The economy is just fine and dandy. All these people losing their jobs can just cash in their 401k's and live like kings.

3. The Reagan Recovery
Corporate Profits are up, number of employed are down.

Yes, this is how the Republicans like it. Keep the average Janes and Joes subservient to the corporate master.

4. Huh?
The cuts will result in an expense of $28 million to $32 million, Gartner said.

Gartner's consulting revenue fell 21 percent in the third quarter to $63 million from a year earlier.

That's upto half their revenue for the year! How do cuts result in such an expense? I don't see anything reflecting a offer of early retirement here.
Wazup?
