Rep. Loretta Sanchez endorses Howard Dean for president
ERICA WERNER
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - On the same day he picked up an endorsement from former Vice President Al Gore, Howard Dean got another nod: from California Rep. Loretta Sanchez.

Sanchez, D-Santa Ana, on Tuesday became the third California member of Congress to endorse the former Vermont governor for president.

Her spokeswoman, Carrie Brooks, said the endorsement had been in the works for several weeks and was not tied to Gore's move. But she said Sanchez expected more of her fellow lawmakers to get behind Dean.

"Loretta's feeling is that there's going to be lots of her colleagues that will probably get on board at some point in the near future, particularly now with the Gore endorsement," Brooks said.

1. That should open the doors of the Playboy mansion for fundraisers...
She set up a fundraiser for Al Gore at the Mansion in 2000, which Tipper ordered to be cancelled. Hef gives her a lot of campaign cash (just enter his name in at www.opensecrets.org).

8. Yep... woulda been sooo much better had B1 Bomb Dornan
been elected.... this was her first re-election (against B1 Bob)... he was running around claiming that he was the "true hispanic candidate" based on his "family values" support.

5. So she screwed up three years ago
Big deal. At least she wasn't out there kissing Bush's ass and praising his "terrific" leadership like a certain general was.
