Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iraq Attacks
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&ncid=716&e=3&u=/ap/20031210/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Two U.S. soldiers were killed and four wounded in separate attacks Wednesday in the northern city of Mosul, the military said. American troops in another northern city arrested five Iraqi policemen and 24 others suspected of ties to insurgents.

Also Wednesday, the military said the emergency landing of a U.S. helicopter near Fallujah, west of Baghdad, was likely the result of ground fire by insurgents.

In the Mosul attacks, guerrillas fired on soldiers guarding a gasoline station, killing one and injuring another, said a spokesman for the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.

A few hours later, guerrillas detonated a roadside bomb and opened fire on a U.S. military convoy, killing one soldier and wounding three others, the spokesman said on condition of anonymity.

1. Anonymous sources?
..."the spokesman said on condition of anonymity." Since when does our press have to rely on anonymous sources for war news?

4. Since this administration put the clamps on anything resembling the
truth from coming out of Iraq. Since only "the good news" is supposed to be printed. Since the this bunch of thugs shit canned the First Amendment. Since anyone in the military gets punished for speaking up and telling the world what it is really like there. That's when.

6. Anyone Except...
generals who contradict the CIC and claim their God is better then their enemy's.

Hypocrisy #1

Lt. Gen. Boykin's defenders claimed that he's a "true believer" who was merely exercising his free speech rights.

Hypocrisy #2

The retaliation from Washington was swift.

CAREERS OVER FOR SOME
"It was the end of the world," said one officer Thursday. "It went all the way up to President Bush and back down again on top of us. At least six of us here will lose our careers."

First lesson for the troops, it seemed: Don't ever talk to the media "on the record" -- that is, with your name attached -- unless you're giving the sort of chin-forward, everything's-great message the Pentagon loves to hear.

2. Guarding a gasoline station
A gasoline station accross from the PUK headquarters, the driver was reported to be a member of PUK, the shooter a PUK. This should be telling us something, like maybe we're not wanted in northern iraq either.

5.  . . .and so the numbers keep growing
This link may have been posted before but here is the reality--real people with faces, someone's spouse, mother or father, son or daughter.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/world/iraq/casualties/facesofthefallen.htm

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

7. One more.....

And where have all the soldiers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the soldiers gone, a long time ago?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards, every one!
When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?

And where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Gone to flowers, every one!
When will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?

Another Merry Christmas for 2 more families.

And the Beat goes on.

"Pass the turkey", exclaimed the CHIMPANZEE to Cheney, "We and your friends at Halliburton, have a lot to be thankful for this year."
