Hispanic advocacy groups call for statewide boycott Friday
Advocates are asking Hispanics throughout California to refuse to go to schools, work or stores Friday in response to the repeal of a law that would have allowed undocumented immigrants to get driver's licenses.

"Latino and immigrant communities don't have to roll over," said Edward Headington, a spokesman for the Mexican American Political Association, one of two groups organizing the protest. "There is strength in numbers."

1. I think it was a bad law
and never should have been passed in the first place. Davis was pandering to the Latino voters. The key word here is "illegal". They're not supposed to be here. How can you be issued a legal document when you're not supposed to be here? I know that these same people are a valuable and contributing part of California and its economy. Legislation should instead be introduced to make is easier for these folks become "legal" aliens.
