Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – Two Task Force Lightning Soldiers assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, were killed Dec. 31 as a result of an explosion while conducting operations in Diyala Province.

Two other Soldiers from this unit were wounded and transported to a Coalition force medical treatment facility.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.

1. Our soldiers are just being killed by one explosion after another

I hardly ever hear of a gun battle for example and gunfire does not make it any better. This gets more horrifying by the minute. RIP brothers and sisters and my condolences to their families.
