Crist may boot some tapped by Bush
January 6, 2007

Jeb Bush was a busy man up to the end of his term. A bit too busy, perhaps.

By the middle of next week, Gov. Charlie Crist is expected to dismantle a small part of the Bush legacy when he cancels some of Bush's late-term appointments.

Mark it down as the start of cutting the umbilical cord.

Crist won't say exactly how many Bush picks are in peril. "There's quite a number, I think," he said. "We're not sure yet. I have to make that decision over the weekend."

Believe it or not a lot of folks down here are cautiously optimistic about Crist so far. Could he be a RINO afterall?

9. RINO -
Republican in Name Only.

Twin Palms??

Even my mom, a Yellow-Dog Democrat from way, way back, is cautiously optimistic about Crist. She doesn't like his ties to Big Insurance, though.

3. I don't know anything about FL politics, but is there a list of
Bush's late-term appointments? I'm wondering if, yet again, a tit-for-tat thing is going on. Was Jebbie going for some payback to the sycophants?
This sounds like a great start for Crist.

4. Bush Republicanism might be on its last legs.
That would be a great thing for this country.

so far crist looks promising. i'll take a rino any day over jebbie and his bots. yes, he loaded up some vacancies with rwers. he didn't want the new governor to pick the wrong people. :sarcasm: if jebbie doesn't trust him . . . maybe WE can.

11. Don't be fooled by Crist
Compared to the Bush clan, he looks like a friggin liberal. But make no mistake, he's a repug through and through. He comes across as a "man of the people", while lining his pockets with $$$ from the insurance companies. He doesn't give a SHIT about people. He's a career politician, the governor's office is merely another notch in his belt.

12. "Career politition" is NOT the opposite of "cares about people."
Keep that in mind.

His choice of Bob Butterworth (a Dem) for DCF was a good one.

If anyone can turn that mess around Butterworth can.

Let's see what comes out of the special session on homeowners insurance.

14. I'll give him a chance..........
I had personal dealings with him when he was AG and he treated me fairly and helped me out with a serious matter (to me anyways).

He really didn't walk lockstep with the bush team and any republicans say hes a "Waneta B Democrat............

so I'll wait and pass judgment on him......
