Republicans’ division over Iraq grows (FT.com)
Leading Republicans on Sunday showed further signs of fracturing over President George W. Bush’s reported plans to send more troops to Iraq, while Democrats now in control of Congress said they would not give him a “blank cheque” for reinforcements but stopped short of saying they would block funding.

Senator Chuck Hagel last week called the idea “Alice in Wonderland”, while on his return from Iraq last month Senator Norm Coleman said he would “stand against” the reported plan.

However, Senator John McCain, the leading Republican presidential hopeful, has come out strongly in favour of “surge”, and Senator Jon Kyl has called on both parties to work together in giving the president’s proposals “an opportunity to work”.

1. Any US official who agrees with escalation need to go to Iraq and "surge".

2. McCain and Lieberman should be banished from public life.
They're both lunatics and a threat to world peace and all that is good in the world. I favor a special tribunal personally...
