Norton and Davis introduce bill to give DC a House vote (CNN)
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-District of Columbia, and Rep. Tom Davis, R-Virginia, reintroduced legislation Tuesday that adds two more seats to the House of Representatives -- one based in D.C. and another in Utah.

"It is simply inexcusable that residents of the District of Columbia, the Capital of the Free World, the city that symbolizes our grand experiment in representative democracy - that these citizens do not have a representative with a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives, the People's House," Davis, the ranking member on the House Government reform committee, said in a statement.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, supported a similar measure in the last congressional session.

2. I wish someone would bite the bullet on PR ... make it a state, or ...
make it part of the territory of another state. It can't hang in limbo forever.

3. Yes. And fuck Utah.
They're already overrepresented based on their population, though not as bad as Wyoming and Montana.

5. Actually Utah isn't as bad as New Hampshire, Vermont, and Deleware.
Oh wait, those are Democratic states. I guess those states having too much sway in the House doesn't bother me then.

6. There's two things wrong with this idea...
...and that is the two Senate seats the District of Columbia ought to have. Anything that makes DC citizens in any way less than full citizens of the country (for instance, being allowed to vote for two Senators to represent them) is a half measure meant to mollify the public and leave the same old stain on the Constitution.

8. Finally!
I think it's a disgrace that the residents of the capital of the country have NO democratic representative in the world's "greatest" democracy.

About time.
