MOSCOW, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Gunmen fired on the Russian embassy in
Baghdad late on Wednesday, Russia's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday,
but no casualties or injuries were reported.

"In the evening of Jan. 10 the Russian embassy in Iraq was twice attacked
by gunfire," the ministry said in a statement. "According to information,
there were no dead or injured. The building of the diplomatic mission was
damaged."

Russia called in Iraq's ambassador to Moscow and a high-ranking American
official to complain about the attack.

The ministry said it held the United States jointly responsible for the
security of diplomatic missions in Iraq.

1. How convenient.
I guess maybe we should punish Iran for such aggression, :sarcasm: even if it was some of our own uninvited troops who did the shooting.

2. Where does it say Americans did the shooting?
I must have missed that paragraph.

3. The Russians didn't say that.
They did say that they hold Iraq and the United States jointly
responsible for the safety of Russian diplomats in Iraq.
Baghdad is a mess and they blame the U.S. for letting it happen.
