Rescue mission in Brazil collapse

Rescue crews in Sao Paulo, Brazil, are searching for several people feared missing after a hole being dug for a subway station collapsed on Friday.

Sniffer dogs are being used to try to track a missing minibus and up to eight possible occupants.

The bus is thought to have fallen into the 30m (100ft) deep crater left by the collapse of the subway works in the city's central district of Pinheiros.

A truck driver is also missing but six other vehicles have been recovered.

The landslide occurred at 1500 local time on Friday. An inquiry has begun...(more@link)

1. Prayers for the strength and safety of the lost people and the rescuers!

I was wondering about lives lost in public construction projects, so looked up the Golden Gate Bridge:

"Construction of the bridge took more than four years, from January, 1933 to April, 1937. 11 men died during this time, but the death toll would have been higher had it not been for the use of a safety net stretched under the span. 19 men were saved by the net. They formed the very unofficial Halfway to Hell Club."

Let's hope these poor lost people in Sao Paolo survive to form a club!
