BAGHDAD, Iraq Another American has died in Iraq.
The military says a roadside bomb yesterday in Baghdad killed one soldier and wounded three others. They were part of a patrol escorting a convoy. Commanders say their unit has been providing cover for numerous convoys carrying troops and equipment in the capital. U-S and Iraqi forces are gearing up for a neighborhood-by-neighborhood sweep aimed at curbing violence.

Roadside bomb strikes MND-B convoy

BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldier died when an improvised explosive device detonated on a patrol in a northwest section of the Iraqi capital Jan. 18.
The patrol was conducting a convoy escort mission when the roadside bomb detonated, killing one Soldier and wounding three others.
In the past week, members of the unit conducted numerous convoy escort missions in support of division operations, escorting troops and materials throughout Baghdad.
The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin
