11 Iraqis with fake ID are arrested in Monterrey

MONTERREY, Mexico — Eleven Iraqis traveling with fake passports and headed to the United States were arrested by Mexican immigration authorities upon their arrival Saturday at this city's international airport.

Mexican immigration authorities said the names of the nine men, one woman and the 2-year-old girl did not match any international alerts for terrorists.

...

They claimed to be Christians fleeing the Iraq war. They reportedly had paid up to $10,000 each to professional human-smugglers for the passports and delivery to the United States via Tijuana.

...

López said that "increasing numbers are fleeing the bellicose events" of Iraq, but immigration authorities have not found any terrorists trying to sneak into the United States through Mexico.

6. on the other hand....
Who knows why they were coming here. They could just as easily be people who have lost their whole families because of the administration, maybe killed by americans and searching for revenge.

I think its more important then ever to guard the borders and check who is coming in because quite frankly we have seriously pissed off a large number of people to the point where I have no doubt they want revenge. This is why the number of Al Queda have grown since Bush decided to wipe out terrorism.

In Bushland black is white and white is black. war is peace and peace is war. life is death and death is life.

Fighting terrorism actually means striving to increase the numbers of terrorists.

Now if only we had a government capable of actually dealing with immigrants in a rational manner.....is it 2008 yet?

3. Aren't we lucky to have
crack Mexican agents guarding our borders?

Maybe we can arrange some kind of exchange program where they come to the US and teach our customs people how to spot fake passports.

5. Ergo there is a refugee crisis going on due to bush.
Let's remember, bush never cared about the Iraqi people, and he never will.

12. This actually illustrates why the Iraq War
has made the US less safe and prone to terrorism. Jihadis need a training ground to learn their craft, so to speak. Fighters in Iraq are very experienced now and know how to plan and execute terrorist attacks under war time conditions. They take their new skills and bring them to the rest of the world. Now, I am not saying these specific guys are trying to infiltrate the US to do so, but those who want to, will be able to using similar methods. The US may have killed inumerable people since the war has started, but the disaster in Iraq has provided this country with countless new enemies with the tools to act.

15. The Lancet Report said that there were nearly 2 million Iraqis displaced by the war
and its aftermath. Thousands have already fled to neighboring countries, and thousands more were desperately trying to leave Iraq.

It is not surprising that Iraqis fleeing their country would become the victims of the same merchants of humanity that get Mexicans and Chinese laborers into the US illegally.
