Jan. 22, 2007

One Task Force Lightning Soldier killed, four wounded
Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – A Task Force Lightning Soldier assigned to 4th Brigade Combat
Team, 1st Cavalry Division, was killed Monday when an improvised explosive device
detonated near his vehicle while conducting combat operations in Ninewa province.

Four other Soldiers were wounded and transported to a Coalition Forces’ medical
treatment facility.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and
release by the Department of Defense.

2. They're still calling it "Camp Victory"?
With more than 3,000 military dead, how many names of the deceased do you think Mr. Bush will mention in his State of the Whatever address tomorrow night? I'm going to guess anywhere from zero to zero. And of the unnumbered, nameless and faceless dead of Iraq, how many will Mr. Bush mention in commemoration of his fealty to the sanctity of human life? I'm going to guess somewhere between zero and one, that being Saddam Hussein. And Mr. Bush will betray no evidence that he values or valued any of those lives.
