Keep Your Enemies Close... (Iran gets help from US "Ally")
TEHRAN, Iran - Iranian officials said Wednesday that they have taken delivery of advanced Russian air defense missile systems — weapons intended, according to one Russian news agency, to defend Tehran's major nuclear facilities.

Announcement of the delivery of the Tor-M1 mobile missile launchers came as
Iran launched three days of military maneuvers, its first since the
U.N. Security Council approved sanctions against Iran on Dec. 23.

In case Bush didn't believe it Iran isn't going to take an incursion into it's country lying down and it isn't the only country in the world that will disapprove of US agression. Defense missles or not we'd do serious damage, but is it at all possible this will help our idiot president see that he's sacraficing our reputation and perceieved legitimacy in the world by the militaristic course he's on?

Doubt it.

5. the answer to that is simple:
As a full-tilt fundamentalist christian, he believes every word of the bible literally. this includes that whack-job John's prediction that it will all end in fire and brimstone. why then wouldn't he want the entire world to go boom. hes counting on it in fact. He's had his finger on the panic button for six years begging "Please God!!!! Please let me be your messenger!!!"

2. The danger of overextension
The US has continued pursuing the militaristic practices and while the wars roll on, the real adversaries, the Chinese and the Russians and the rapidly uniting Latin America, gather power and simply wait for us to hang ourselves. I wouldn't be surprised if an indirect result of our war to be a reason for China to take Taiwan.

3. they want war so they can clamp down on the "homeland"
Hence all the anticonstitutional repressive measures taken the last few years--maybe--all the bs is tied in together

4. A separate peace
Part of the ruling class strategy to pursue a costly and futile war to conquer the resources and markets of the middle east is that it not affect the vast majority of Americans at home.

The notion of a draft or any substantial sacrifice by the public is rejected summarily because the political consequences are feared. So the too small and repeatedly deployed national guard, reserves and active duty ground forces must risk their lives in the combat zones again and again and again and their families undergo interminable stress and worry.

Once Iran is attacked, the rest of the US and the world will feel the impact of war. And unfortunately it will get much worse for our forces in Iraq.
