Gen. Wesley Clark: Any penalty should be on table
LITTLE ROCK (AP) -- Captured Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein should be tried in a venue that allows him to be sentenced to execution, presidential candidate Wesley Clark said Sunday.

Clark, a retired Army general and former NATO commander, spoke in a conference call from the Netherlands, where he was staying in advance of testimony today and Tuesday at The Hague in the U.N. war crimes trial of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic.

The Democratic candidate said if he were president he would be consulting with allies and the Iraqi people to determine the best court or tribunal for putting Saddam on trial.

"All punishments should be on the table," Clark said. "But the U.S. is going to have to work with Iraqi representatives ... to determine the proper venue."
