Police fire into air to disperse pro-Saddam demo
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/LAD551326.htm

BAGHDAD, Dec 15 (Reuters) - Iraqi police fired into the air on Monday to disperse several hundred demonstrators who had gathered in Baghdad to protest at the arrest of Saddam Hussein, witnesses said.

"We want Saddam back!" protesters chanted while marching in a street in the Sunni Muslim neighbourhood of Azamiyah.

Iraqi police confronted the demonstration and when protesters refused to disperse and shouted insults, several policemen fired volleys of gunfire into the air.

1. They should give them Saddam back
Only not in Iraq. Give the Baathists an island somewhere and let them kill each other off.

2. "Hundreds" of pro-Saddam protesters?
That contrasts sharply with the 50 to 100 celebrants of his capture... You mean to say MORE Iraqis want him back than wish him gone? Why has our media lied to us??? Next, they'll tell us there is no Santa Claus...
:wtf:

5. There were far more celebrants in Dearborn than in Bagdad
The local news was covering the celebration outside a mosque on Warren AVE in Dearborn, and there had to be 75 people at least out on the sidewalk singing, waving american and iraqi flags and pictures of a muslim guy that I also observed in the Iraq footage. I guess he's someone Saddam had killed, a cleric or something?

6. Big deal, Baghdad has a population of 24.6 million
I could get more than 200 people together with a case of beer and a volleyball. What is this?? .001 percent of the population?

4. We invaded to
"liberate" them but will not allow them the liberty to protest no matter why they want to protest. But I suppose that is our new American democracy with "free" speech zones. Maybe they can be cordoned off somewhere out in the boonies.
