Cindy Sheehan Endorses Kucinich For President!
A packed and cheering crowd greeted U.S. Representative and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, Sunday at St. Matthias Episcopal Church as he campaigned on a plan to end the war on Iraq.

Kucinich spent the weekend jetting from a large anti-war protest in Washington, D.C., Saturday to events in San Francisco and Los Angeles before addressing the crowd of supporters and peace activists Sunday afternoon in Whittier...

Kucinich said the U.S. presence is fueling insurgent activity and anti-American sentiments in the region.

"We've got to let the international community know that we want to get the troops out," Kucinich said in an interview. "This was an illegal war and there can be no peace until we're out. We can use existing funds to mobilize and bring them
home."

In a surprise appearance, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, whose son, Casey, was killed in Iraq in 2004, introduced Kucinich and praised him for being the only candidate to vote against the war and against all funding requests.

"I support him because he's the only peace candidate,"

25. You don't become president by deserving it.
Obviously, you become president by winning the election, or stealing it. Kucinich is certainly a good man, but he will never get the nomination and if by some chance he did, he would be soundly defeated by the Republican candidate. I cast my first presidential vote for McGovern and since then realism has caught up with head in the clouds idealism. I do not want to see another Republican elected president. Welcome to the real world--reality is a harsh mistress.

31. You can't "demand" a real leader either.
That's what elections are for and sometimes a real leader grows with the job. The most important thing is to have a leader who has honesty and integrity and who is surrounded by good and smart people who are not afraid to tell their boss that he or she is wrong.

4. He's my candidate for 2008. It's time we got a true liberal
in office. There have been conservatives and moderates in office for the last forty years. We need a liberal voice to undo the harm these guys have done and move into a more civilized and prosperous twenty first century.

8. Kucinich is a "peace now" candidate
Dennis called for "peace now" in 2003, and he was told to wait.

Dennis called for "peace now" in 2004, and he was told to wait.

Dennis called for "peace now" in 2006, and he was told to wait.

Dennis is calling for "peace now" in 2007, and he is being told to wait.

Dennis will call for "peace now" in 2008, and he will be told to wait.

We have been waiting for "peace now" since 2003, while the Democratic "movers and shakers" continue to tell us to wait. How much longer must we wait?

16. People forget that it took a courageous Congress to end the war in Vietnam
Politicians will always find a rationale for continuing the war for they perceive peacemaking as being weak. I suggest they read what Jesus said about the peacemakers on the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus did not bless the warmongers, that's for sure.

34. How much longer?
pretty damn long, if you listen to the bourgeois Democrats.

The rich and powerful will never let someone like Kucinich win, they will always tell him to wait. Our only path to peace is through the dismantling of the bourgeois capitalist system. The bourgeoisie do not want what the people want, and so before the people can get what they want, the bourgeoisie must be overthrown.

We need to stop waiting and take what we deserve. We need to do away with the real problem here.

22. Me too!

Unlike those opportunitists, he is the only candidate that has been consistant, and principled.

Go Kucinich!

It's important to say the right thing all the time, not just to do so only one wants to run for the White House.

That's called character, and conviction. Kucinish has it!

33. That's impossible
big money needs wars. WWI was about profit, America entered it because of profit, America went into Vietnam for profit, America went into Iraq for profit.

Here's the solution: DO AWAY WITH BIG MONEY. Abolish profit, abolish capitalism. THAT'S how you MAKE a fair world.

Some say life isn't fair. I say life is what you make of it.

27. I would love to see DK too...
but there are at least 2 things working against him:

1) his baggage from his days as mayor - the pubs would have a field day
2) he is seen as far too left to be considered electable

30. Its not just the power plant in Cleveland
Look at his appointments to important positions.

Look at his staffing choices for the campaign in 2004.

I'm sorry I don't want someone who can't pick a decent campaign team picking a cabinet.

32. look at his congressional staff
I think that you don't need to look at his campaign. DK, as a congressman, has a congressional staff. Look at their work, look at the quality of his legislation.
I also think that you should look at who was his campaign strategist. That's the most likely person to advice him on picking a cabinet.

35. He doesn't represent the rich
So no matter how much he represents the majority, he'll never have a chance. That is the reality of the system we live in today: the rich matter, not the people.
