'Three killed' in Pakistan blast.

I used to think that this tactic was only justified by Islamists to kill Jews (in Israel) or Christians (in the US, Britain, Spain, etc.). Now it seems to be religiously permissible to kill fellow Muslims in Iraq, Pakistan, Jordan, etc.) This one exploded prematurely at a checkpoint but may have been headed for a Shia Muslim procession nearby.

It is a very effective tactic. Traditional guerrilla groups (occupied countries in WWII) targeted the occupiers, not the civilian population. While they were somewhat effective, they hardly had the success that groups in Iraq are enjoying. I wonder why the French resistance did not think of the idea of blowing up their own countrymen in order to put pressure on Germany to cease the occupation.

So many things have changed in terms of media since WWII that a more realistic example might be Yugoslavia. Could Slobodan Milosevic have caused enough public outrage against the NATO bombing campaign if he had launched a campaign to kill large numbers of Serbian civilians in protest against NATO's actions? Instead he just slaughtered Muslims and fought with Croats and others which just reminded everyone why he had to be dealt with.

2. The first suicide bombing of this type

was carried out in the Iran/Iraq War. A 14 year old Iranian boy rolled under an Iraqi tank and detonated a bomb thus destroying the tank. It's simply a new tactic and has also been used by secular groups such as the Tamil Tigers.

As for muslims killing muslims there is no more solidarity in the muslim world than there is in the christian world. Don't forget we had catholics and protestants killing each other only a few years ago in Northern Ireland (and for centuries previously in Europe).

3. I did not know of the instance during the Iran-Iraq War.

Of course, I am familiar with our history of Christians killing each other as well as those of other faiths. Just trying to get a handle on the various interpretations of Islam.

4. Islam basically says that

you shouldn't kill civilians but of course the terrorists find loopholes and make up their own reasons why certain people aren't civilians. Just like the 10 commandments never stopped a freeper or hardline christian from justifying war.

5. Intercine fighting

between Shiites and Sunnies is nothing new, especially in Pakistan where anyone other than Punjabi Sunnis are discriminated against.

But you are correct, that causing utter chaos has been an effective tactic to make governing for the occupying force complete hell.
