Rush Limbaugh Seeks Court Hearing to Keep Seized Medical Records Private

I am all for privacy but doesn't this guy always say you don't have to worry about privacy if you don't have anything to hide?

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Rush Limbaugh asked a court Monday to hear his claim that investigators violated his privacy by seizing his medical records and asked that the records not be released.

The conservative radio host cannot be treated for his medical conditions because the state seized his charts and files last month and intimidated his doctors, the court petition said.

Prosecutors have said they are investigating whether Limbaugh obtained and used prescription painkillers illegally. Typically, such records would not be released until a criminal investigation ends and charges are filed.

Limbaugh's rights have been scrupulously protected during the investigation, Palm Beach State Attorney spokesman Mike Edmondson said Monday.

I doubt that the doctors don't have the information that they need. Either copies were made or they don't need them because the treatment is not complicated enough.

How many treatment centers were the medical records sent to so that he could be treated? Did he bother to send his medical records to the other doctors that prescribed the drugs? If he had they would not had prescribed the drugs. Can't have it both ways!!!

As for intimidation... you think it might be because the doctors did something wrong/illegal and that is why they might feel intimidated? They have a lot at stake if they interfere in the investigation. Like losing their license, going to jail, losing their practice.

33. I hope there's a "typo law" in Florida

I read in one of those "news of the weird" things about a guy whose drug bust was thrown out because someone in the DA's office left a letter out of the name of the drug he was accused of having, and there was no law against having the drug listed in the search warrant.

On page 3 of this warrant it says "The CLINES advised they have been selling Rush LIMBAUGH large quantities of Hydrocodone, Oxycotin..."

Rush is addicted to a drug Purdue Pharmaceuticals calls OxyContin.

I hope that N doesn't get this thrown out...

When medical records are subpoened, COPIES are supplied to law enforcement or defense attorneys. the original record is kept in the health care facility the care is given.
So, Rush-bo can still get medical care...Man he even lies in court documents. I believe that is perjury.
