Anyways, this equates to progress, remember?

I hope that wasn't the $2.50+g of gas we're paying for.

"According to an unconfirmed report, a second explosion occurred near a railway station in Baghdad's al-Yarmouk district on Wednesday."

Ahh it's ok, probably just another person that can't drive.

Gas truck blast kills 9 in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- At least nine were killed and 12 others wounded Wednesday morning after a gasoline truck exploded in central Baghdad.

Hospital sources said nine people were killed, but Iraqi police 1st Lt. Amin Hussein said 11 died in the explosion.

It is not clear what caused the blast, which happened at 6:45 a.m. (10:45 p.m. Tuesday ET) at an intersection in the Bayah district of the Iraqi capital.

Video of the scene showed several vehicles on fire. By daylight, Iraqi police inspected two burned cars and a crushed and charred passenger bus, which sat in the middle of the road.

Police have secured the area and detained at least one person.

Meanwhile, President Bush said Tuesday he believes former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein should face the death penalty after being tried.

7. Now that Saddam is being interrogated by the CIA and Mossad
Well, the CIA anyway, things couldn't be better. Bush got a bounce in the polls. The American people are on an endorphin high.

Why can't the Iraqi people cooperate? Why do they persist in making us unhappy?

15. It's interesting that this criminal war has caused more Iraqi civilian
deaths than the last ten years combined by Saddam, really tragic that most fail to understand that basic point. If you were to include the amount of Iraqi soldiers into the equation the count would be far greater.

Tanker Truck Explosion Kills at Least 10 Iraqis
Governing Council Says Hussein Held in Baghdad

By Fred Barbash
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, December 17, 2003; 1:38 PM

An explosion that killed 10 Iraqis this morning in Baghdad was the result of an accidental collision between a truck laden with fuel and a minibus, U.S. military officials said this afternoon. They said the blast was an accident, not an attack, the Associated Press reported from Baghdad.

Earlier, Iraq's Deputy Interior Minister Ahmed Kadhim Ibrahim said the truck was packed with explosives and the intended target was a police station. The story dominated news coverage of Iraq all morning and through the day.

(and in the background)......

Fourth Infantry Division troops seized 30 people in pre-dawn raids in Samarra, a center of resistance to the U.S. occupation, a spokesman said. Troops seized 78 Iraqis in Samarra Tuesday.

A written statement from the division said the sweep was requested by local leaders and that it would "target, isolate and eliminate former regime elements and other anti-coalition cells."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7572-2003Dec17.html

it's important to de-humanize the Iraqi citizens as you KILL them...now called 'other anti-coalition cells' by Public Relation spinners....

why aren't we hearing about the Samarra 'mai lai 2' operation ???
