US soldier killed in Baghdad ambush
An American soldier has been killed and another wounded in an ambush in Baghdad.

The soldier from the Taskforce One Armoured Division was patrolling through the Karkh district of Baghdad when his jeep was ambushed.

Another soldier and the unit's Iraqi interpreter were wounded.

Meanwhile, the head of Iraq's Interim Governing Council Abdul Aziz al-Hakim says reparations should be paid to neighbouring Iran for the war launched against it by Saddam Hussein in the 1980s.

Iran is claiming more than $150 billion in reparations for the eight-year war, which left an estimated one million people dead.

5. 'BRING EM ON" shouted the AWOL CHIMPANZEE
Another nice Chrismas present for a couple of mothers. One dead-- one maimed. Maybe some kids can get in on the act too, after all they now have a flag and a purple heart to look at for Christmas.

3. Iraq should pay reparations actually.
But Iran should agree to waive them in the interest of regional unity. I hope that Iraq and Iran can develop cooperative relations and never, ever repeat the criminal war Saddam Hussein launched in the 1980's with Washington's blessings.

7. No, the US should pay most of it because we financed Saddam in the war
Had it not been for our supplying Saddam with WMDs (poison and weapons) and our aid to Iraq who was fighting our war with Iran by proxy things would not have been as bad as they were for the Iranian people.

8. Who pays reparations is going to be decided in the upcoming
civil war. By spring there will be such a fucking mess there, paying for past wars will be way down on the agenda. There are 460, possibly 461 dead Americans now, all died in an ilegal conquest to comfort the rich, and steal natural resources.

11. Remember, it wasn't just the US -- UK, France, Germany, among others
All violated their arms export controls to proliferate forbiddden weapons to Iraq. It was an immense, global, organized crime operation that spanned 15 years. And all the various intelligence agency mafias got away with it.

10. You are right.
Most people not only don't give a shit, they are only interested in what affects them personally.

If their kid gets arrested they are outraged.

If it is some poor Ghetto dweller who gets arrested, guilty or not, they believe the Death Penalty should "FRY" the "Darkie" ----(Actually I've heard worse nouns, but this is a family friendly site)
