Bush keeps pressure on Democrats on Iraq money
By David Alexander

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Reuters) - President George W. Bush kept up the pressure on the Democratic-controlled U.S. Congress on Friday to set aside misgivings about his troop buildup and fully fund U.S. forces in Iraq.

Bush was on the road raising campaign money for the first time since his Republicans lost control of Congress in November elections.

Instead of vowing to stay and fight and win in Iraq, an unpopular stance that contributed to Republican losses, the president asked lawmakers to give his reworked Iraq strategy enough time to work.

"Our men and women in uniform risk their lives as they carry out this plan to secure Baghdad and secure this country and they need the support of the United States Congress," Bush told an event that raised $2.1 million for Kentucky Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell's re-election campaign.

...he asks me to consider that his "surge plan" announced 50 days ago and still not fully described is more valid than my fully thought out and expressed views from before we attacked Iraq, and then to convince me of his good judgement he raises money for MITCH McCONNELL???????

3. His surge plan badly requires the funds intended for 2008, huh?
Isn't that precious.
