2 U.S. Marines, sailor killed in recent Iraq fighting
FALLUJA, Iraq (CNN) -- Two U.S. Marines and a sailor died during recent combat operations in Iraq's Anbar province, west of Baghdad, the U.S. military announced on Sunday.

One U.S. Marine was killed on Saturday, and the second Marine and sailor died on Friday, the military said.

All three were assigned to Multi-National Force-West.

With the deaths, 3,172 U.S. military personnel have died in the Iraq war. (Posted 3:04

Washington DC than our military personnel killed in Iraq. Based on deaths per 100,000 there are about 10 times as many military deaths in Iraq as in DC.
