White House: Little Comment on Libby Verdict
By E&P Staff
Published: March 06, 2007

NEW YORK White House spokeswoman Dana Perino this afternoon said President Bush would have no comment on the verdict in the CIA leak case, beyond, "He respects the jury's verdict" and "He was saddened for Scooter Libby and his family."

She said that the press would be "disappointed to hear" that the White House was going to stand by its rule adopted long ago that it would "not comment on an ongoing legal procedure."

The trial was over but it would be appealed, she said, guaranteeing no comment, probably, before Bush finishes out his term in office.

In a conference call later, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, husband of the outed CIA agent Valerie Plame, noted the president's expression of sympathy for Libby and his family, but asked why the White House had never expressed similar feelings for his wife after losing her career at the agency.

Wilson will be appearing on MSNBC's Countdown and CNN's Larry King show tonight.

8. The answer to Wilson's question...
....."but asked why the White House had never expressed similar feelings for his wife after losing her career at the agency", is quite obvious. They don't care. In fact, they were quite pleased to have Plame out of the picture because she was gumming up their attempts to sneak in the WMDs that had to be found in order to justify their invasion of Iraq. Her clandestine operations were to guard against such movement of WMDs into the region, something that the Bushistas found extremely troubling at the time. It made them look bad: no WMDs, no real grounds for the Iraq invasion. And what do the Bushistas do when someone throws a roadblock in front of their plans? They remove the roadblock by any means necessary, including treason.
Everything in the Bush White House is about power, both it's acquisition and retention. They're not keen on people who believe truth and ethics trump political image. Valerie Plame and her associates found that out the hard way.
Let's hope the Bush administration finds out, in an equally hard way, to what extent Americans DO value truth and ethics. To jail with the entire lot of them. They deserve nothing less for their treasonous actions.

11. It is time to force a comment
It is time to force a comment, first a comment on a pardon. Second, if we can fight through the media push to say that he should get a light sentence of 1, 2, 3, or even 4 years of the near 30 years possible. This is a crime that is so offensive because it is attempting to block the window onto the truth of an incredible offensive crime. He should be made an example of with 27 years in prison.

This strong sentence will cause the comment, from the ignoring and avoiding cabal of the whitehouse.
