"Bill Richardson just called to say that he will not be doing the Fox News debate in Nevada.

Richardson had been the sole Democrat to confirm his appearance at the debate, which is on life support at this point.

Excellent. While Richardson is not my first choice candidate, I applaud him for joining John Edwards not to participate in the Faux debate.

Another breaking item: Nevada Dem Party Drops Debate

"The Nevada State Democratic Party is pulling out of a controversial presidential debate scheduled for Aug. 14 in Reno and co-hosted by Fox News, according to Democratic insiders.

The debate was being hosted by Fox News Channel and Fox News Radio, the Nevada State Democratic Party and the Western Majority Project.

A Fox spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a call for comment.

Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards said Wednesday he would not participate in the debate, citing Fox's conservative ties as a factor. His deputy campaign manager, Jonathan Prince, sent an e-mail to the liberal website DailyKos, which was posted on the site."

6. I watched the clip from PTV on why they pulled out of the

webcast of the debate. Seems that Fox News would own that debate, and PTV would be able to post clips or archive it. That is wrong. Congratulations to each candidate that recognized the lion, and decided not to put their head in his jaws.

10. Fox had better hope that a Democrat is not elected in 2008

Because it would be unfortunate for them if they were to lose their White House Press Credentials. Free speech allows Fox to report whatever they want, but there is no constitutional right to a press pass.
