U.S. prepared to reduce agricultural subsidies: Bush

2 hours, 17 minutes ago

ANCHORENA PARK, Uruguay (Reuters) - The United States is prepared
to reduce agricultural subsidies but wants to ensure market access for
goods, President George W. Bush said on Saturday during a tour of Latin
America.

At a news conference in Uruguay, Bush said he had spoken with President
Tabare Vazquez about advancing the Doha round of trade global trade talks
and that he was optimistic a deal could be reached.

Major South American agricultural producers such as Brazil were key to
putting the brakes on Doha as they and other emerging economies insisted
the United States reduce subsidies for farms and the European Union cut
agricultural import tariffs.

2. This won't hurt any farmers I care about - the folks at the

5. BAD fucking idea.
Prices will fluctuate like apeshit, and the first bad cycle for each crop will result in hundreds or thousands of farmers going bankrupt, and then there will be shortages because those farmers aren't supported.

This is a BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD fucking idea. The American food production and commodity management system is the envy of the world and the basis for dozens of other countries' efforts at the same.

Bush is an evil, evil fucker. All because some asshole wingnut came up with the apocryphal stories about farmers paid to farm nothing and Repukes felt ripped off.

It is sometimes good to fallow fields rather than flood markets, assholes...and it is equally good to keep those farms on line since our population is growing and shit happens and it is good to have a little extra farm capacity hanging out so we don't -uh, I don't know - STARVE !

Mother fucking republicans try my patience.

8. It's actually due to foreign anger over unfair trade practices.
At a certain point that anger turns into retaliatory tariffs, as provided under NAFTA.

None of which has to do with your other points regarding Bush. :)
