Former escort business owner says she's reached deal on records

WASHINGTON The woman who ran an escort service in the Washington area for 13 years says she's reached a deal to hand over her phone records of up to 15-thousand clients.

In an e-mail to W-T-O-P radio, Deborah Jeane Palfrey says she is giving away all phone records, logs and invoices to what she calls a reputable investigative news organization.

She says she needs help mining the lists for potential defense witnesses in her criminal and civil cases.

Palfrey was arraigned last week on federal racketeering charges.

The list has only phone numbers for now.

But it has generated widespread speculation about who might be on it.

Palfrey's attorney says they had about a dozen serious offers to buy it.

Palfrey says that with her assets seized by the federal government, she needs to leverage the list to help with her defense.

3. We already have a Hookergate...
The Duke and the Hookers

Before he was caught and sent to jail, former Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham was entertained by prostitutes hired by a defense contractor, according to a new federal indictment against a man he has accused of bribing him with gifts of money, meals and favors.

4. The prostitutes who entertained him were in DC; this could be the
madam. Pure speculation, but there it is.

5. She may get a pretty sweet deal soon.
This happened in New Orleans a few years ago. FBI staked out a whore house in New Orleans (after 9/11 mind you) and the madam hinted she might release her black book and low and behold, the judge excoriated the FBI for their stupid investigation wasting time in a post-9/11 world and she got a slap on the wrist.

They keep good records for a reason - in case someone gets a bad case of the hypocrites.

6. Alleged Vallejo madam (D.C. prostitution ring) agrees to share phone records
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/03/12/BAGC6OK2UP59.DTL

A Vallejo woman indicted on federal charges for allegedly running a prostitution ring in Washington, D.C., said Monday that she has reached a deal to share phone records of thousands of clients with a media organization.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey, 50, said in an e-mail to a Washington radio station that she had decided to "hand over all phone records, logs and invoices (including those presently unknown to the government) to what I believe to be one of the most reputable and respected investigative news organizations in the country, to assist me with my needs." She did not identify the organization.

In the e-mail to station WTOP, Palfrey said the records, which weigh 46 pounds and could include phone numbers of some 10,000 clients from 1993 to 2006, "need to be mined for potential defense witnesses in the criminal and civil cases currently pending against me." Palfrey has previously threatened to sell the records to help pay for her defense.

Palfrey did not say whether any money was involved in the arrangement to hand over the records. Reached outside her Vallejo home Monday, Palfrey declined comment.

18. It's too bad people are more concerned about the sex lives of lawmakers
than they are concerned about whether or not they are hypocrites.

It's the congressional morality-spouters that need to be affected by this.

Unfortunately, the votes didn't get merged in the process.
