Reid-Biden-Levin Joint Resolution To Revise United States Policy On Iraq

EndingTheWar.com, paid for by Biden for President Inc., seeks support for a soon-to-be-introduced resolution Biden co-authored with Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., calling for a scaled-down mission for U.S. troops in Iraq and a phased redeployment of troops beginning within four months of adoption.

The resolution sets a goal to redeploy all combat forces from Iraq by March 2008, except for a limited number for force protection, training Iraqis and counterterrorism operations. It would require Bush to pursue a political, diplomatic and economic strategy in Iraq to secure a settlement.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada is expected to introduce the legislation this week.
