Iraq War Alters Political Landscape

By ANNE FLAHERTY

WASHINGTON (AP) - Four years into the Iraq war, about the only thing that has not changed is President Bush's insistence the fight can be won.

With more than 3,200 U.S. troops dead and still no clear way out, the political landscape could not be more different.

Public support for the war has fallen to its lowest levels. Republicans have lost control of Congress, at least in part because of voters' angst over the conflict. Even the president has acknowledged the tactical approach to the war must change.

The debate on whether to launch a pre-emptive attack against a nation has given way to this question: How soon should U.S. troops leave?

FULL story at link.

1. Us voters are just angsty!
I love the condescending view of the electorate in that article.

3. "The debate on whether to launch a pre-emptive attack against a nation..."
That still stuns me.

"Debating" on whether to do what Hitler did.

Doing what Hitler did.

"The supreme crime".

Against a nation that had not attacked us. Had not threatened to attack us.

Had not, in fact, being doing one damned thing to anyone. Least of all to us.

Gee yeah, let's "debate" illegal, immoral, unfucking believably sickeningly wrong "pre-emptive war".

America; how incredibly far you've fallen.

5. And their apologists on DU and elsewhere
Are still out in full force telling us to be satisfied that the Congress may end the war by 2009 and a few thousand more of our kids dead.
