Blair, Bush could face probe at The Hague

Gethin Chamberlain, London
March 19, 2007

TONY Blair could face the prospect of an International Criminal Court investigation for alleged coalition war crimes in Iraq.

The court's chief prosecutor said at the weekend that he would be willing to launch an inquiry and could envisage a scenario in which the British Prime Minister and US President George Bush could one day face charges at The Hague.

Luis Moreno-Ocampo urged Arab countries, particularly Iraq, to sign up to the court to enable allegations against the West to be pursued. Iraq's ambassador to the United Nations said that his country was actively considering signing up.

The US has refused to accept the court's jurisdiction and is unlikely to hand over any of its citizens to face trial. However, Britain has signed up and the Government has indicated its willingness to tackle accusations of war crimes against a number of British soldiers.

4. I don't know
But at least the ball has started rolling. If it's dependent on Arab countries signing up, there is a pretty good chance that many of them wish to see the same result.

Of course, Smirko could care less, as he guzzles another zombie in Paraguay.

In the original ads, RCA added "from the beyond" as the doggie's owner had passed.

No comment from me.

No comment from me on who monkey's master is, neither.

11. We must demand a pledge from our Democratic Presidential candidates: No Pardons!
No pardons for Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Feith, Rumsfeld, Rice, and others. The pledge should include a promise to extradite to The Hague any former official or office holder that is accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and crimes against peace.

The best way to begin the healing process is to allow for the prosecution of those responsible for the war in Iraq.

Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 06:30 PM by MasonJar
when he refused to join the International Court. He was worried about his own sorry, good for nothing a__. When one sits down and really considers the life of GWB, one finds a very arrogant and ignorant piece of white trash, who has had to be bailed out of everything he has tried because of absolute incompetence. If Senior and Barbara had blistered his backside when he used firecrackers on helpless frogs and refused to cover his business failures, they might have helped W grow up. Instead he is really a pathetic little-minded "moran."

Yet if it were true I'd be overjoyed.

And if they aren't dragged in front of the Hague then there is no such thing as a war crime.

35. Very mixed feelings about this...
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 06:21 PM by tom_paine
About the potential of a trial...even in absentia, of Little Boots Bushler and Lying Dick, at the Hague.

While I am absolutely thrilled that international investigations are occurring and the obvious war crimes which have been repeatedly and knowingly committed by Bush, Cheney, Blair, et al, it disturbs me because of the disgrace that such is rightfully required.

Because we should be trying, prosecuting, and jailing these criminals OURSELVES! It is shameful that the nation (for all it's faults and flaws, it has been by far a force for good in the world, especially compared to almost all others in our size-class) that was once REALLY a beacon of Freedom to the world has now travelled the dark path towards the opposite. That is the TRUE tragedy of everything from the Stolen Election of 2000 onward.

It is that which is most dear. It is that which will be hardest to regain. We will only be able to regain it by demonstrating that we are a "Nation of Laws, and not of Men".

We the People should handle this through our representatives in the government and this time...NO DAMNED PARDONS. You sew over THIS wound in America and gangrene will set in by the time our granchildren have children, if not much sooner.

Here's hoping that you get the country turned round and back to being
a world leader again - not through brute force and financial means but the
leader by example and with the respect & admiration of the world.
