White House spokesman Snow faces surgery
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Presidential spokesman Tony Snow said Friday he will undergo surgery Monday to remove a growth in his lower abdomen.

He said the procedure was being done "out of an aggressive sense of caution" because he had colon cancer two years ago.

He said Friday that tests since the growth was discovered in his lower right pelvic area have been negative, but that doctors decided to remove it to be sure.

"Please do not leap to conclusions about this because we don't know what this is," Snow told reporters. "We know it's coming out, and I know I'll be back soon."

he should find employment elsewhere. His job (lying for a criminal) and his nasty attitude are not good for a man in his condition.

Oh my God! That man was E-VIL! What did they call him? The happy hatchet man?

It really pissed me off that he was into the blues and actually played with the likes of BB King! God has a freaky sense of humor, methinks, to give that bastard a tallent like that.

62. Dana Perino will replace him
I'm not sure who he/she is.

"There have been a lot of rumors about my health, so let me tell you what's going on. In a recent series of CAT scans and PET scans and MRIs, we have found a small growth in my lower abdomen. Blood tests are negative, PET scans are negative. But out of an aggressive sense of caution, I'm going to go in for surgery on Monday and have it removed. I'll be out for a few weeks, because it's still -- you know, they're going to cut me. And it will take me a little while to heal up. So I'll come back here a little lighter -- (laughter) -- in, oh, I don't know, a few weeks, maybe three or four weeks. Dana Perino will be handling the responsibilities from behind the podium."

44. Reuters link: Bush spokesman Snow to have abdominal surgery
Fri Mar 23, 2007 2:48PM EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House press secretary Tony Snow, a colon cancer survivor, said on Friday he would undergo surgery next week to remove a small growth in his lower abdomen.

Tests had not shown the growth to be cancerous, said Snow, a former Fox News commentator and conservative radio host appointed in April 2006 to bring a touch of star quality to the White House briefing room.

"But out of an aggressive sense of caution, I'm going to go in for surgery on Monday and have it removed," he told reporters.

Snow said he would be away from work for three to four weeks. He disclosed in early 2005 that he had been diagnosed with colon cancer, and had surgery shortly thereafter.
