UPDATE: Kean Vows Answers To 9/11 Failures (complete transcript added)
The Kean remarks were from an interview earlier this month with CBS News. CBS released the transcript to The Washington Post to counter a claim by Kean's spokesman that the interview was about Kean's role as a university president; the transcript shows extended questioning about the commission.

Kean said he considered issuing a subpoena to the White House to force it to provide more information, but a court challenge "would have been a long shot" and the panel would "be out of existence" before it was resolved.

1. I'd love to think Kean will actually report facts. But he was appointed
by Der Evil One, and has business ties to bin Laden,
so I won't get my hopes up.

2. The CBS transcription is astonishing

<snip>

There have only been three investigations like this in American history. The first was the Pearl Harbor investigation and that report. The second was the Warren commission on the assassination of President Kennedy, and the third is this report on 9/11.

<snip>

It's everything from — money laundering to immigration reform to visas to response of NYC and Washington to the attack itself, to the history of al Qaeda, the intelligence agencies-the FBI, the CIA, did they really do their job and if they didn't how did they fail, airline safety? — Defense, all those areas, and they're all specifically outlined by Congress, Congress told us this is what we have to do.

<snip>

But this was a negotiation, the White House has needs. These are documents nobody has ever seen.

<snip>

We are seeing documents that no one has ever seen before in the history of the United States. Not the congressional committee, — the intelligence committee didn't see it. — Nobody's ever gotten them, so we are seeing the most highly sensitive documents in the possession of the United States government.

We are using those documents to form our report. Are they going to all be in there in detail? No, because they are highly classified. — And some of them would — put the security of the — United States, the security of — an agent of the united States in jeopardy, so they will all not be in the report, but they'll be in separate documents to be seen by people — who have classified approval to see them.

14. Zzzzzzzt! Wrong! The answer is FOUR (at least).
"There have only been three investigations like this in American history. The first was the Pearl Harbor investigation and that report. The second was the Warren commission on the assassination of President Kennedy, and the third is this report on 9/11."

He forgot Project Bluebook, the results of which fall into the same category as the above science fiction.

15. Others...
House Select Committee on Assassinations

Watergate

Iran-Contra

...others too numerous to mention.

I'm always amazed at how quickly historical fact gets kicked into the gutter of time.

5. kean is an agent of bush
and will act in bush's best interest.
there will be a glossy, magazine style appearence of tough invstigation -- but no matter how damning the evidence -- it will be made to exonerate bushco.

6. A large amount of blame belongs to...
the corporate media for not asking any questions and protecting the little prince. They are wholly complicit - as bad if not worse than the justice department.

I was so pissed the other day to turn on Crossfire for reaction to Wednesday's announcement only to see back to back coverage of Michael Jackson/John Lee Malvo... then yesterday was G. Gordon Liddy!

Arggg!
Tut-tut

7. Minnesota
Remember the FBI middle-management geek who kept dragging his (her?) feet on the requests to get inside Moussouri's laptop, and then got promoted?

I think that's the type of person Kean's talking about when referring to people who outta be fired.

8. Fuck Thomas Kean and the horse he rode in on with junior!
This is a bigger joke than appointing John D. NEGROPONTE as the
United States Ambassador to the United Nations!!!!

Anyone that thinks this is going anywhere hasn't a clue.

Mr. Negroponte was and still is a good friend of Henry Kissinger. Let's see, wasn't Kissinger first appointed to the 911 investigation?

Why aren't the dems all over this like flys on shit? I'll tell you why, Cuz there aint't too much goddamn difference the two party.

Merry Christmas sucker.
