FNC & CBC Partner For Two Debates (Fox News and Congressional Black Caucus)
Edited on Thu Mar-29-07 04:55 PM by seriousstan
Source: tv newser

First on TVNewser: "FOX News and the Congressional Black Caucus Political Education and Leadership Institute (CBC Institute) have jointly announced that they will present two 2008 primary debates, which are expected to attract the top Democratic and Republican contenders for President of the United States. The debates will be presented live on FOX News Channel (FNC) and FOX News Radio.

The first of the two debates will be among Democratic candidates and will be held on September 23rd at the Fox Theater in Detroit. The second debate will be among Republican candidates and will take place in the fall of 2007 at a location to be determined. Both debates will serve as a forum for the candidates to make their platforms known.

The CBC Institute previously partnered with FNC for two democratic presidential debates leading up to the 2004 election, in which all candidates participated. Both debates were among FNC's highest rated political telecasts of the You Decide 2004 election season."

In making this announcement, FNC Executive Producer of Political Programming Marty Ryan said, “We are looking forward to working with the CBC Institute again during the 2008 campaign. The debates we conducted with the Institute during the 2004 campaign were among the most important and interesting of that cycle, and we expect these to be even better."

1. Won't be watching the debates.
I wish the candidates good luck. But after watching the way Roger Ailes and Fox attacked Obama...won't watch.

If you missed the Fox attacks video about Obama...

2. Very disappointing.
Fox hosted the CBC debate during the last election cycle. I recently read the "commentary" that followed and judging from that, it's remarkable that *only* 88% of Fox viewers voted for bush.

Just a day ago a "news" segment on Fox carried the banner "Democrats legislate defeat in Iraq".

The CBC is usually out in front of progressive interests. This decision is SAD.

I hope Kucinich is the only one who shows.

3. Now we will again hear: "we have to reach out".. just like before
when NV was going to hold theirs.

Is the CBC all Democratic or are some Republicans? I hear it was bipartisan.

4. The CBC is all Democratic
There are no black Republicans in Congress.

5. egos at play
there are a lot of low-level potliticians in the CBC who get a huge thrill out of being used as straw men and FAUX News Democrats. Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters being the worst.
