US Democrats accuse Bush of allowing terror threat

As Americans digest the news that Al Qaeda is almost certainly planning a major attack on the US during the holiday period, the Democrat Opposition has been quick to criticise President George W Bush for allowing the terrorist network to remain a threat.

The Bush administration has raised the national terror threat warning to its second highest level, saying it is receiving more intelligence of a possible attack now than at any time since September 11.

One of the front-running Democrat presidential hopefuls is former US Army General Wesley Clark.

General Clark says Mr Bush made the wrong move going after Saddam Hussein, instead of Al Qaeda's leader Osama bin Laden.

"He did a bait and switch on us and substituted Saddam Hussein and boom, $150 billion, 460 American lives and no telling how much more of our treasury before this is over, and Osama bin Laden is still out there, Al Qaeda is still out there," he said.

Watching the ABC Evening News tonight, they featured no less than three speakers who compared the terror alerts with the Boy Who Cried Wolf. My wife and I were just discussing this same comparison.

The Bushies have completely run out of ideas. Saddam was not the ace in the hole they hoped. The only thing they have left is fear, and even that has run of steam.

from the same sources that Bush said told him that WMD's existed in Iraq

with one lip Bush jumps on the intell and screams terra-terra-terra, with the other lip he criticizes intell sources when they tell him something he doesn't want to hear

he only received a 3-4 point bump in the polls after the turkey dinner and saddam's capture - doesn't seem to be high enough for him

21. Local Airport has received no instructions from TSM

According to WVLT in Knoxville, at 6am, airport authorities had still not received any instructions from the Transportation Security Administration regarding actions to be taken in response to the elevated terror alert. Jees Bushies, if things are as bad as pre-9/11, don't you think it might be wise to have a plan. Of course the Bushies were clueless then and there's no reason to think they've learned a damn thing.
