GOP Senator (Tom Coburn) Asks Gonzales to Resign
Source: MSNBC First Read

Oklahoma GOP Sen. Tom Coburn has asked for Alberto Gonzales to resign. At today's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Coburn said the firing of US attorneys "was handled incompetently," adding: "The best way to put this behind us is your resignation."

Coburn told Gonzales, "You set the standard, leadership management skills." And he said the Justice Department needs a clean slate.

2. Not to me!
Get ready for a round of hosannas of "The system works!"

Coburn will be praised for his bipartisanship and Gonzo will resign, effectively and permanently spinning this scandal that probably involved willful obstruction of justice on a nationwide level as a simple case of incompetence by an AG who trusted his subordinates too much.

3. Coburn seemed annoyed that Gonzales' hands did not grasp the lifeline
so he's taking the attitude, if you have that little fight for survival in you, might as well let you drown.

5. Coburn hates government..
He seems to rail against everything unless it has to do with putting the government in your bedroom or uterus.

6. But he has no qualms about accepting a big fat government
paycheck, government health benefits, an eventual government pension, and access to lobbyists and their $$ that he'd never have in the private sector.

Gotta love these hypocrites who hate the government while sucking it dry.

12. I don't know
Coburn is an MD in "real life". I don't think he jump into politics to make money. You don't have to agree with him to know he belives the stuff he's selling.

...Coburn (of "lesbianism is rampant in Oklahoma public schools" fame) doesn't believe that anyone should be allowed to be a bigger embarrassment to Publicans than himself.

:spank:

8. That could be taken two ways by me
1. When a lunatic like Coburn insists on Gonzales' resigning maybe I should rethink my position on his ouster.

2. When a lunatic like Coburn insists he resigns, it just confirms Gonzo should go.

10. That's because Gonzo didn't allude to this being the responsibility of
rove, elmer fudd or the scrub.

So, georgie is happy and pleased

11. Bush and Rove are into it up to their nostrils
And we will never know. Because the investigation will end with Gonzales. The republicans are calling for his resignation to end it. Bush and Rove are saved again.
