For Mrs. Clinton, Listening Subsides and Talk Is Louder
"Hillary from Westchester was on the line, and she was upset.

"Literally, I have been accused of everything from murder on down," the first-time caller complained. "And it's hurtful and personally distressing when it first happens. But when it continues . . ."

Hillary was Hillary Rodham Clinton, the junior United States senator from New York, who surprised Brian Lehrer by unexpectedly phoning his call-in show on WNYC radio in New York this month to respond to a sensational charge that a listener had made about her and her husband.

There was a time when Mrs. Clinton did her best to fade into the woodwork and be seen as just another lawmaker on Capitol Hill. But these days, the woman who started her Senate candidacy with a "listening tour" cannot stop talking — or so it seems to politicians and strategists in both parties."

1. On Crossfire this year
the funniest thing was Tucker Carlson saying that if Hillary's book reached Number 1, he'd eat his shoes and his tie. The day after it hit number 1 on the lists, Paul Begala arranged to have a giant shoe-shaped cake presented to him on the air - by Hillary Clinton.

3. If my DirecTV has to be pulled
Because of Murdoch's purchase of it, Hillary's hilarious in-your-face gracious humor was worth the years of subscription. One classy, funny and correct lady.

5. It's about time the Clintons came out swinging!!!
Of all the garbage the right wing spews out, I'm surprised Bill or Hillary have not gone ballistic on someone.
Shows the class of the Clintons.

8. Unfortunately, Public Figures Don't Have that Option
Although they ought to consider treason and conspiracy charges against the GOP, instead.

6. It's clear Hlary decided that it was safe to "come out" now
Obvious political strategy on her part to start earning her reputation as a hard worker in the Senate first, before she felt she could be more vocal in her beliefs and in her opposition.

Clearly a winning strategy.

9. You should have seen the lovefest that was going on in the Congressional
record when "junior" rep Elizabeth Dole was about to make her first speech.

And afterward, the sweetness continued.

Of course, no such graciousness was afforded the Junior senator from New York.
