AMERICAN troops plan to ship Saddam's underground hideaway back to the States as a permanent memorial to his capture.

Engineers from the Fourth Infantry Division want to excavate around the seven-foot deep bunker and lift the entire plot by helicopter on to a transporter.

They hope to set it up at their huge military base in Fort Hood, Texas.

The sorriest thing, to me, is that this doesn't sound like an edict from on-high. This is a mid-level brainchild. Which nicely illustrates how indoctrinated by propaganda our citizenry, uniformed or not, have become.

We can't put a shard of debris at the 9.11 memorial, cause we shipped it all overseas or have it tucked away rusting in a hangar, but we can airlift a fucking hole in the ground and venerate it as a national monument.

"The soldiers confiscated $1million in US currency from Saddam and his two bodyguards. This will be used to pay for armour-plating army vehicles to boost protection." If they think it's Saddam's then taking it is a war crime. If they think it belongs to the Iraqi people, GIVE IT TO THEM.
