Lenny Bruce pardoned 40 years later
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/12/24/1071941759745.html

Comedian Lenny Bruce was granted a posthumous pardon by New York Governor George Pataki today for a nearly 40-year-old obscenity conviction prompted by a foul-mouthed political commentary.

Pataki called his decision, the first posthumous pardon in New York state, "a declaration of New York's commitment to upholding the First Amendment," which protects freedom of speech.

Why does'nt this news show up in the Amrican Press??

1. It was on NPR
but that may only be because they were interviewing a comic who was the first to do headline comedy.
