Princess' dog kills queen's corgi

Princess' dog kills queen's corgi

<snip>
LONDON, England (AP) -- Queen Elizabeth II was mourning the death of one of her beloved corgis, mauled by a terrier belonging to her daughter Princess Anne, a British newspaper reported.

The Sun tabloid on Wednesday said Pharos the corgi was injured in an altercation with bull terrier Dotty at the royal family's Sandringham estate on Monday. The corgi was treated by royal vets for leg injuries but had to be put down, the newspaper said.

Dotty has been in trouble before. In April 2002 she bit two children, aged 7 and 12, as they walked in Windsor Great Park near Windsor Castle.

Princess Anne was fined £500 (U.S.$880) -- the first time in the modern age that a senior member of the British royal family had been convicted of a criminal offense.

1. This has been a bad year for the Queen
First our unelected fraud rips up the thousand-year-old gardens at the Palace, and now one of her corgis has been killed.

The American equivalent would be someone plowing up the White House Rose Garden then killing one of the pandas in the National Zoo.

Tis a sad year in Britain.

10. I think the gardens are more like two-hundred-years old.
Buckingham House (1705) was built by a descendant of the first Duke of Buckingham, a lover of James I.

It was purchased purchased for a royal residence by George III in 1762 for his wife, Queen Charlotte.

At the beginning of the Nineteenth Century Buckingham House was converted into a royal palace. At that time, Buckingham Palace was more than doubled in size and the modern gardens were laid out.

It's still a shame Dubya & Company trashed the gardens.

4. The bloody thing should be put down
It's already attacked 2 kids and she got away with it, just because she's a Royal, no doubt.

8. Actually, I think in the UK it's a fine for the first offense, and death
for second offense.

I could be wrong.

I think she WAS treated just like everyone else. I bet if the Tories were running the show she wouldn't even have been charged.

11. We misunderstood Dubya...
When he said to be prepared for a "terra" attack, he meant terrier, not terror.

P.S I hope I am not tempting fate here by making jokes about the alert level increase, which for all I know could be accurate for once.

19. bull terriers are NOT PIT BULL TERRIERS
nor are they staffordshire bull terriers.

but they are dumb as rocks.

if you have one, i'm sorry; every single bull terrier i've met has been retarded.

26. spuds mckenzie
that was a bull terrier. the white ones are even dumber.

once again, a BULL terrier is NOT a STAFFORDSHIRE BULL terrier. staffies (not amstaffs) are damn cute & smart & not really that big. but like a gun, they only belong in responsible hands.

i'm sure the bull terries meant well. It was all probably just an unfortunate misunderstanding, I'm sure.

29. Wow, that is terrible.
I've read the Queen loves her Corgis much more than she did her children. She's doted and cuddled with them for years. Yikes. Well, just call it Karma came a 'knocking. Life as a billionaire just isn't what it should be, Elizabeth.

I wonder if this will cause problems between mother and daughter?
