JonBenet Ramsey's Parents Sue Fox News
Parents of Slain Child Beauty Queen JonBenet Ramsey Sue Fox News Network for Defamation

The Associated Press

DENVER Dec. 24 — The parents of slain 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey filed a $12 million federal defamation lawsuit against Fox News Network over a story they say cast suspicion on them.

In the lawsuit filed Tuesday in Atlanta, John and Patsy Ramsey took issue with a report that aired last year for the six-year anniversary of JonBenet's death. In it, a Denver-based employee stated there has "never been any evidence to link an intruder to her brutal murder."

Prosecutors and a federal judge have said evidence in the case was more consistent with the theory that an intruder killed JonBenet. The parents were never charged.

I love it when anyone sues Faux News.

2. Credit can be given to Hal Haldon for keeping the Ramsey's off the hook,

Mr. Haldon isn't with the Ramsey's anymore.

By the way I think Kobe's attorney is Hal Haldon - Like Kobe, Haldon doesn't lose too often or at all!

4. Pardon my cynicism - one more distraction away from the war
The lawsuit was filed Tuesday, for a report which aired last year. That's a long time to wait.

JonBenet will probably never rest in peace. That homicide invetigation stinks to high heaven, and suing Fox is not the best way to use their time, energy, and money to find who murdered their daughter. Just like Fox, they have their priorities screwed up.

10. "South Park" is satire
I think that the courts have ruled that satire does not have follow the same rules as real (or in this case, Fox) news.

we should all sue them. If I was a lawyer, I'd figure out a way to do a class action lawsuit against them

9. Fox News
I support the Ramseys' suit against Fox because it asks that Fox stop profitting on lurid stories.

Many parents would not have allowed their young daughters to be dressed in lipstick and other make-up, but if that is poor judgment, poor judgment should not be punished by murder. Among other networks, Fox held a trial by media and condemned the Ramseys without a shred of evidence. Fox should be made answerable to that trespass.
