WP: Iraq Hotel Struck Twice by Rebel Rockets (new info)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A29317-2003Dec24.html

A review of the latest attacks on the hotel and other areas, as late as Thursday morning. This part is stunning:

In northern Iraq, a suicide bomber detonated an explosives-packed car in front of the Kurdish Interior Ministry in the city of Irbil, near Kirkuk, U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt said in Baghdad.

Four civilians were killed - two guards, a 13-year-old girl and a passing taxi driver - along with the bomber, said Interior Minister Karim Sinjar. He said 101 people were injured in the 11 a.m. explosion, two seriously.

Do we have to get into semantics?

7. What's stunning to me is how quickly the media will dismiss this event
and all that it signifies.

After all, when the Al Rashid Hotel was hit more than a month ago, killing a Col. and wounding several others (an attempt on Wolfie's life, perhaps?), General Dempsey, in charge of security, spoke of how quickly life was returning to "normal" in Baghdad in particular and Iraq in general, and that Wolfie shouldn't take it "personally." It was just one of those things.

The numbers killed and wounded here cannot be considered "normal" by anyone's definition.
