5 Palestinians killed in Gaza strike

Five Palestinians were killed Thursday in a Gaza City air strike, Palestinian sources said, in the first assassination attempt since October.

Israeli helicopter gunships fired at least two missiles in Gaza's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, an Islamic militant stronghold.

Military sources would confirm only that the target was a senior official, but did not provide any more details.

The Palestinians killed were traveling in the same car, which Palestinian sources said belonged to an Islamic Jihad activist. The Subaru exploded as a result of the air strike, Israel Radio reported.

Several more people were wounded
