BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Guerrillas sent more than a dozen rockets and mortar rounds slamming into Baghdad on Christmas Day, hitting the vicinity of the U.S.-led occupation authority in Iraq (news - web sites), hotels and embassies.

The insurgents fired three mortar rounds shortly before midnight, hitting the vicinity of the U.S.-led administration headquarters in central Baghdad, repeating an attack on the area launched earlier in the day.


There was no immediate word on casualties or damage. Warning sirens sounded in the huge complex -- once one of the palaces of captured Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites).


Guerrillas also directed their rage at a U.S. military camp in the town of Baquba, 40 miles north of the capital. They lobbed two mortar bombs into it after nightfall and wounded eight soldiers, two seriously, a U.S. officer said.

And then there's probably some of these "attackers" that are just grieved family relatives getting a wee bit of revenge for thousands of family members murdered by the BFEE and gang since May ?

Or how about ordinary CITIZENS of Iraq trying to evict an Invader ?

They should keep it simple and refer to all of them as Freedom Fighters. Their goals are all the same, Freedom from US Occupation.
