We live 20 miles from a NASA site and there are lots of rocket scientists around here. The NASA business and their personnel are almost a religious following here.

That 747 must be 'souped up' as we said in my day. When that puppy's engines started up for take-off, we heard it from several miles away from Davis-Monthan Air Base.

8. Exactly! When I moved back to CA in '82
I took my daughter & drove out to see it land. It was amazing - I highly recommend it if you are close get over there.
