Mum Warner likely to move on
Source: Wash Times

June 25, 2007

Virginia Sen. John W. Warner has said little about whether he will run for re-election, but the 80-year-old Republican is giving clear indications that he will not return for another term and that his coyness is merely an attempt to help Rep. Thomas M. Davis III, a fellow Republican, replace him.

"There has been considerable discussion about the possibility that might delay an announcement of candidacy, then announce he wasn't going to run, to allow Congressman Tom Davis to build up at the beginning of the campaigns, which would give Davis an advantage," said Morton C. Blackwell, chairman of the Virginia's Republican National Committee and leader of the conservative Leadership Institute.

Mr. Warner has so far offered little insight, except to say: "I am seriously considering running again for the Senate and am listening to a wide range of Virginians, from the man and woman on the street to my colleagues in the halls of Congress. I will announce my decision about the Senate race in September."

4. Warner possibly Gov.Kaine. The Repubs just had a bloodletting primary two weeks ago
massive turmoil. The anti-tax conservatives came out (and ran) against the party leadership and did very well. The Senate majority leader (Stosch) got by but it was much closer than it should have been (I helped make it close :-) )

It is funny to see all the vultures circling before there is even a (political) corpse. Gilmore takes himself WAAAY to seriously. Davis and Cantor both are just tools, no real anything there just carrying the party line (think talk radio level of discourse)

Oh and John Warner could raise all the cash he wants at the drop of a hat. He is untouchable. They have never forgiven him for getting Marshall Coleman to run and stop there from ever being a SENATOR Ollie North.

BTW_ if you haven't noticed the reason the Republicans have such a craptacular field running for POTUS is because George Allen was SUPPOSED to be the one but we all know what happened to him :bounce:

6. Either Kaine or Warner
there are ALOT of stupid CONS in Virginia that need to go, in the House and the Senate: Cantor VA-7, Goode VA-5, Davis VA-11.

3. Davis is worst than a roach
anybody that has ever lived near Virginia or lives in or near there now knows that. He is as bad or worst than allen. He is sneaky with his not vocal like allen was.
