New Delhi,India Jan 1 (IANS) India is not considering sending troops to Iraq following the capture of former president Saddam Hussein but remains committed to the reconstruction of the war-ravaged country, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha has said.
"While expressing our commitment to the reconstruction of Iraq, we are not considering the question of contribution of troops," Sinha asserted in a yearend interview with IANS.
"We are, of course, ready to contribute to the requirements of the Iraqi people like healthcare, training of personnel etc," he said, noting New Delhi had announced a contribution of $30 million for Iraq's reconstruction.
